Outstanding university. Amazing staff and facilities. Loved every moment in this bustling city. Highly suggest any fresher to go to the Taf, Coco Gelato and Cafe 37. Unbeatable.

Course review , 31/05/2017

All coursework, labs, tests and assignments are assessed and contribute to the final year grade, which is very helpful as exams contribute to only part of the final grade. The structure of the course is very clear and well organised with a lot of contact hours. It is very easy to contact lecturers or your personal tutor with any problems you may have as the University has an open door policy.

The passion of the lecturers really comes through during lectures. However, some lecturers are teaching topics which they're not passionate about and that is also easy to see. The School is really eager to get feedback and improve the course and increase the enjoyment for the students. The student representatives meet monthly and are really approachable. After each meeting, we all receive an email detailing what has changed and what steps they're going to take. The school is very small and therefore, by the end of the year we get to know everyone in the year and people in other years too.

Course module review - Professional Skills, 14/02/2017

This was the most awful and useless module. A complete waste of time. What did we learn? We made CVs. CVs! In a Software Engineering course! My coursework was a video podcast. That alone should speak of how useless this module was. We had to make a video about how great our University is an think of it as if we're advertising the University to the freshmen-to-be who are still choosing universities. That was literally the description of the coursework. And this is what I waste my time with in a Software Engineering course. Not learning another language or a complex algorithm.

Course module review - The Countryside, 07/02/2017

Submitted by Anonymous on

The module is spread over both lectures and seminars although the seminars are more like mini lectures than discussion based. The lectures provide an overall view of the module and he seminars are specifically aimed at course work and exam prep detailing what to include in each. There is one written essay and one exam both worth 50% of he module mark. Overall pass rate is 40%.

Course module review - Creative Writing I, 23/05/2016

Submitted by Anonymous on

In this module we learn about different genres and forms of writing. We then have to create a piece of creative writing according to the genre or form we studied that week. Then we send this out to the rest of our group of 4 and receive feedback from them at the end of the next session.
I loved the way this module was run. Because it was spread over a year, it gave me the chance to explore my own imagination and refine my creativity. It also allowed me to get to know the other people in my class a lot more. Now, being almost at the end of the year, we are a really close group.
