Accounting and Finance course has many interesting modules mostly focussed around financial accounting classes. Lectures have very good experience in the industry and are able to make the modules interesting. Cass Business School is locates around 20 minutes walk from main campus, and host many extremely enjoyable events and networking opportunities which widens the scope of learning rather than purely based upon lectures. The societies available in the university are relatively limited, but they are useful and there’s an ability to go to a clubs and society’s fair at the beginning of the degree. The university has a gym about a 10 minute walk away, which has reduced payments for students. The facilities there are good and the sports hall hosts many games.

Course review , 12/05/2017

The degree is an enlightening one. It makes you think using not only the knowledge you've acquired in secondary school and sixth form but using just common sense and the experience of living in today's society. This course focuses more on the practical aspects not only the theoretical part as well. As it is a BSc degree you have the opportunity to think critically and apply what you learn in lectures and reading to actual life. The teaching consists of lectures and seminars which allow you to take notes and have further guidance on the reading and understanding on the lecture.

My course is very unique as it delves into the statistical and econometric side of finance taking into account trading, derivatives and risk assessment. I believe that this in depth and specific teaching will help me in the field of finance in ways in which degrees such as economics would not.

1) very poor teaching! no basics are taught
2) very intense course but enjoyable modules
3) no extra help is provided for people who dont come from traditional backgrounds i.e. A levels
4) no good societies to join/ hardly any extra events for students to attend

Course module review - Criminal Law, 15/12/2013

Submitted by Anand Gajjar on

This module has the fascinating, yet frankly odd, cases that are discussed, for the 4 stars awarded for it. Not to mention an incredible lecturer, who's professional-colloquial approach to the subject makes for an undoubtebly interesting lecture every time. I mean, where else would one be able to learn about 'suicide pacts' and 19th Century 'bus/carriage racing' without being deemed as creepy or weird?
