De Montfort University

The campus is friendly and easy to get around. There are lots of facilities where you can study, meet up with friends and have fun. The careers services are constantly emailing about opportunities and are easy to find. The university isn’t overbearing and they want you to do well without making it a experience full of pressure, which I like. It makes you want to do well for yourself and not for their status or for league table results. Its a relaxed environment where you want to learn and they also provide A LOT of help & support.

Great 3 years spent here at De Montfort. Had an opportunity to go Silicon Valley and Dublin, so got to see the American and European approach to technology.

De Montfort University is amazing at providing with extra support for careers and further progression. There is always support and guidance and help available whether you want to enhance your CV, get someone to look at your CV to improve it, volunteering and other experience opportunities as well as help securing placements and graduate jobs. The staff go above and beyond to help. As well as this, there are so many opportunities to visit abroad and learn about other countries and their cultures all while being related to your course. I study law and I have been able to go to Canada, Hong Kong and New York and learn about their legal systems as well as increasing my cultural awareness and becoming more independent. Check out DMU Global!! All in all a fantastic university!

The campus is very welcoming and allows students to be able to mix across different courses unlike other unis where the buildings are not on one campus. This allows convenience facilities to all be nearby. The access to city centre is also fantastic with it being a 10 minute walk allowing students to go out for lunch even if the lunch break is short.

The campus is nice however the staff are not very competent and the whole admissions process is very unorganised. There are so many issues becoming a student at this university.

Campus is great, nicely sized and in a great location. Facilities are pretty modern and the library is open 24/7. Is lacking on-site sports facilities though, however, most are located within a 5 minute walking distance. On-site squash or near squash facilities would be better than having to walk 25-30 mins to the other side of Leicester to use the community courts. The campus is also used as a walk-way for the public, not inherently an issue but can mean that the campus is busier than it should be at peak times. Can't really speak about the SU as I am not particularly involved in anything like that, I'm assuming it's okay... The leture theatres are pretty good too, a little bit small and the acoustics aren't great but there are a great deal of them, coupled with the library the learning facilities are pretty good for an ex-polytech. Can't speak about the career services either as I've never had to use them. Given the recent news regarding success of DMU alumni getting good placements and careers after uni I'm assuming they must be good. As an organisation, it's pretty good. It promotes diversity and equality, however, is a little restrictive on free-speach (with regards to voicing slightly conservative opinions, not to be mistaken with hate-speech) as with all universities nowadays. Something which is a tad regrettable.

Very good facilities with a good range of teachers, there is always room for improvement. More areas for work and studying I do feel is required, however this university is on the right direction

Always given support and loads of societies. Campus is spaced out and there is a lot of facilities like the library and gym which are used by many students. Many courses have a placement year which allow many students to widen their chances of getting jobs after uni.

DMU was an amazing university to go to. The campus was breathtaking with help always around. My course had several modules, some better explained than others but no problems with such helping lecturers and tutors.

Honestly, my time at DMU was amazing! The campus was breathtaking with the new Vijay Patel building and the student union. In relation to my course, some modules could be improved in what they ask from the students but all in all I never had any complaints, even towards the tutors and lecturers because they were always so helpful and guiding.

De Montfort University has so many new impressive buildings giving a pleasant and friendly campus. Also, DMU Global gives annual opportunities for students to travel abroad including New York.

I think it's a really good uni. I've been studying here for 2 years now and this university offers plenty of support to get you going even through tough times. They are very efficient with blackboard. The library is super supportive, you can attend workshops for extra help. DMU global helped me to take on Spanish as an extra curricular and they have beginniner, post beginner and advanced levels. You can also take on German, Chinese Mandarin... there are limitless opportunities at DMU if I went on it would be endless.

A fantastic Uni. Very multicultural with the option to travel to other countries to aid development. Great placement program although you have to pay for the placement year. Need more lecturers to students and attention to the students could be better due to large capacity. Still a great uni and community.

The university on a whole is great, with incredible facilities that will equip you with the tools you need to succeed. However organisation of courses could be better.

Generally the campus is great and very aesthetic, often alot of student sales on vintage clothes and art pieces with the campus too which is fantastic. It is usually kept very clean as well. Some buildings are more outdated then others and it shows, especially when you attend lectures in multiple different theatres. The facilities are all generally fantastic, especially the library. Studying a joint honors is particularly rewarding too as it means I can enjoy both History and Journalism without getting overloaded with work from one subject. The student union is generally quite good despite a few recent controversies. The campus is also extremely diverse and it is great to see, and everybody is treated fairly regardless of sex, gender or ethnicity. Finally, the generally university experience has been very rewarding to attend DMU.

The university campus is beautiful. It is very modern and only recently built. Facilities are good, state of the art gym, good library etc. Academically, not enough support for students.
