Lacrosse

Lots of equipment available for long term borrowing so you don't have to buy kit until you're sure it's the sport for you. They do bulk orders to reduce the cost. Lots of socials happen, including sports nights on Wednesdays and recent additions of sober socials such as film nights and meals out. There's 2 teams for men and women so any level is welcome and a very good training system so people excel quickly and will be playing games within a few weeks.
