The campus itself is of a good size, with many places to sit and socialise and to grab food. However, there are also places you can go to get away and focus on work, so there is a good balance between the two. It can be difficult to navigate yourself around the campus at the beginning but you pick it up very quickly. The facilities inside the campus are pretty good, there is a costa and a few little cafe's inside with a courtyard for socialising outside. The classrooms are of a decent size for the most part and enable everyone to see the lecturer without struggling. The rooms can be a little cold at times but it's bearable. The students union is a great place to hang out, with a bar, pool tables, and music, it makes a great place to socialise and relax after lectures or for pre-drinks on a night out.

There is an LGBT society for people who want to meet other like minded people, i didn't go myself due to lack of time but i would have. Student's from poorer backgrounds are catered for and supported by the uni. Students on a certain level of income can get a bursary from the uni directly.

Some of the older buildings aren't built for people who can't walk or stand for very long due to the lack of lifts. However, i'm sure there are ways around that.

Amazing staff and really friendly. Helpful staff when confused on assignment and lecture material. Especially the social science course. Definitely would recommend to others

Course review , 07/08/2017

First year complete, after being undecided whether I has made the right choice completeing the first year and recieving the grades I achieved it is safe to say I definetly made the right choice for myself. The course is informativ, all the tutors are helpful as well as being able to have a laugh and joke they remain professional and are there when you need them. The structure of the course is laid out so good! I wish i done this sooner, the amount of information you get for both sides of the course is benefical to helping you choose what you want to do with the course when you've finished.

Overall this is a fairly good course but not the best. Teaching staff were mostly very knowledgable and helpful, and a couple of the lecturers are at the top of their field, such as Dr David McCarthy.

However, some modules became very repetitive year on year for certain subjects, such as Nutrition Science, with little additional material. Organisation is variable between modules also, with some modules being very well run but others less so, with lecture slides not always available before the lecture, and confusion over coursework word limits and deadlines.

Course module review - Forensic Psychology, 23/05/2016

Submitted by Anonymous on

I really enjoyed this module. The lecturer was really enthusiastic and told us lots of anecdotes from his time working within the field. I also felt that the structure was good as it involved work shops as well as lectures which I thoroughly enjoyed. It is perhaps one of the more applicable modules too as some of the ones we had done the year before such as consciousness in humans and machines perhaps were only applicable to a few of the class.
