Overview

Plymouth College of Art is an independent specialist art college since 1856, providing a distinctive, innovative and supportive learning community in contemporary arts practice.

While many art colleges are phasing out traditional crafts such as print or analogue photography to focus more on digital methods, we have some of the best digital courses and equipment in the country, we’re also constantly developing and improving our traditional art courses.

Based in Britain’s Ocean City, the college has links to industry across Europe, whilst being nestled between picturesque Dartmoor and the iconic coastline.

Home to an intimate community of more than 1,250 undergraduate students across a range of creative degrees, our specialist facilities include glassblowing and ceramic studios, alongside industry standard media studios and printing rooms.

nightlife

There’s something special about the way that music, art and film blend in Plymouth. Contemporary arts venues like KARST and Studio 102 house innovative contemporary art exhibitions and residencies, while DIY spaces like The

Junction are passionate promoters of both unsigned bands and local makers – hosting live music and record launches, alongside illustration and zine fairs.
