I have chosen Robert Gordon University for its extensive experience in providing high quality education with a strong alumni and Scotland’s reputation for its quality in Higher education. Moreover Aberdeen is Europe's Oil and Gas Capital, so there are lots of Research and Development work going on in the city and also the prospects of petroleum engineers are very good to the Industry Presence. Oil and Gas Engineering definitely needs specialized talent. At the outset of Global warming and high stringent environmental terms across the world, field throws challenges around innovation in making the field greener. We need cutting edge innovation to deal with such challenges. I strongly believe that my time at university will aid me in understanding technology in a better & bigger perspective, develop relationship with students, professors, companies in this field, network for future prospects, and bring in innovation in the field and by joining the Robert Gordon University. University also provides lots of options in accomodation. All of them are made to make sure student gets would get everything to pursue their study. So I would attempt my next stage of journey towards excellence for their excellent program in Oil and Gas Engineering. I am sure that not only the destination but even the journey would be enlightening. University and Scottish Government also gives Scholarships to the students so that reduce the burden of their Fees cost.

This university was definitely the ideal choice for my course. They have a great business school which focusses on all the important components of the business world. With tutors that have experience in the fields. The campus is very modern and laid out well. With plenty of study spaces. There is also great facilities where students can book study pods and group work can be carried out here.

The campus is very clean and very well laid out however there is very poor parking and the parking that us provided is charged at a very high rate. The nursing course is very well planned and organised and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Lecture theatres are some times to warm which is a down fall

The campus is really nice and modern with plenty useful facilities for students. Only issue is that buildings can sometimes be hard to navigate - rooms can be hard to find, etc. I study PR and am I second year, finding modules interesting however some seem quite unrelated to the course albeit still handy skills to be learning.

Amazing campus, right by the river Dee so great views all year round. Lecturers are always supportive and tutors make university life so much easier! Cannot fault my time at RGU and recommend it to everyone.

The RGU is a very good university under all points of view, everyone is ready to help and would like to enhance your experience at the university, the facilities are amazing, the inclusivity of international student is very good (I am an international student). The RGU gives you a lot of opportunities to learn, develop your career, boost your CV and have fun with a lot of activities

Health and wellbeing services

Yes, there are many services and a society of well-being, RGU restlife, is possible to speak anonymously with someone 24/7 in case of depression or other problems
Support for international students
I am an international student and the support is very good, from the welcome in the airport to student buddy, ESN and different societies combined with the support of the library with study skills, language and seminars (like essay, references,...)

Very good university. The new buildings are very modern and so is all the technology in them. Only down side is it does not have a union you can go and get a pint from or go to for a night out.

I chose RGU not only because it's close to home but it was the only uni I went to on the open days where it was a completely calm and welcoming area! All of the tutors are so helpful and genuinely care about you passing each semester, and put in 1000% effort teaching. The campus is right next to a river so on the nicer days you can just take a break and sit by the river to forget about all your deadlines, and there are so many opportunities to get involved with activity days and nights out that are in tune with your interests. The library has a beauuutiful view and has so many books on every topic - not to mention there's always a spare seat kicking about, even during exam season!

If you are looking for structure, RGU is a perfect Uni for those who still miss High School. As RGU doesn’t operate in the same way as most UK universities in that most students if not all do not get the chance to pick any elective classes during their studies, it remains in the same setting as a high school. The campus is relatively linear and small and is modern in comparison to its town counterpart, AU. RGU has state of the art software and hardware for students on any of its given courses and with a high employability rate it is a perfect university if Aberdeen is where you want to be.

As a lesbian student I find the LGBT representation and society at RGU to be very poor. While I don’t think it’s entirely the fault of the University itself and more to do with the location, there is a lot to be desired when it comes to LGBT at RGU. The LGBT society is a small banded together collection of students that seem to try really hard to get stuff sorted and organized but always fail to turn out big numbers. As someone with mostly queer friends, I don’t actually have any that take part in the LGBT society as they don’t find it to be very interesting. As far as safe spaces for LGBT students at RGU I would say that th university is a forward thinking, inclusive space and that students don’t need to feel awkward or scared to be themselves. However Aberdeen’s LGBT nightlife is nonexistent, literally. With only one club/ bar in Aberdeen is LGBT specific and an utter embarrassment at that, there isn’t really a clear safe place for LGBT people to party in Aberdeen. Having said this, it pushes LGBT people into straight bars and almost forces everyone else to just get on with it. Being out and proud in clubs like Underground, EXO and Tunnels has never been a problem for myself or my fellow queer friends and I think while Aberdeen lacks a lot of what Glasgow benefits from in terms of representation and variety for queer students, Aberdeen makes up for in being tolerable and accepting towards queer people.

The campus is really aesthetically pleasing because it’s so modern, it’s not too big so it’s easy to get around. I know it’s the top university for graduate prospects and the courses are all really well structured. The fact that it’s beside the river Dee makes the atmosphere even better, but I would’ve liked to have stayed on campus.

The campus is big and really easy to navigate. Though some buildings can be a little too out of the way to get to. My course has various different aspects to prepare me for any eventuality. However they do not provide a lot of placement opportunities for a digital media student.

the campus is a lovely location being next to the riverdee and having various facilities on site, including a gym (which I don't use) a union office which is as involving as anyone could hope for and a library which is well equipped for just about every learning experience. the student experience could stand for abit of improvement thoug especially for international students
