Most beautiful campus in my opinion (after Cambridge and Oxford). New library is a madness. Biomed is decent. Egham is dead though...

Course review , 31/05/2017

Content of the course is interesting and there are many 3rd year module choices. However, doing 7 exams at the end of the year is less than ideal. Most universities now have exams every term and Royal Holloway should start doing the same. Also 3rd years' timetables are a joke - I was doing 4 hours a week one term. There is very little contact time with teachers, but this seems to be an issue with all universities in the UK.

Mixture of very good lecturers and not so great ones, assessment is a mixture of coursework and exams with some option for coursework focussed modules, i have enjoyed the university more generally, good facilities on campus and lots of coffee shops!

The content of the course could allow more specialization of Biochemistry but does provide the foundations for a Biosciences career. There is a huge focus on laboratory work done throughout the course which provides plenty of experience if this is the type of career you would like to go into. Teaching varies however. Majority of the professors are very interested in their own work and like when you show interest about it. It is good to be working closely with the professors as I believe they can keep you in the loop about new opportunities.

Course module review - Interpreting Management, 07/08/2017

Submitted by Anonymous on

Unstructured, unorganized, under managed (ironically), low level of teaching, not one tutor or member of staff willing to help with assessment. All tutors were postgrads which had no idea about the module, the course, or the assessment. I got a 2:1 in this module, had there have been any quality, for sure id have obtained an upper 1st.

Course module review - Adult Psychological Problems, 22/05/2016

Submitted by Anonymous on

Module topics were good but the content sometimes felt like it was all over the place. The material (slides) provided by the lecturer lacked chronological order and was at times confusing. The coursework was ok, was expecting the lecturer to be a bit more creative as we had done something similar in second year. Overall it was a good course but could be improved.

Course module review - Spanish 2, 22/05/2016

i started to learn spanish as my 3rd language.
the course was really intractive and we had tons of things to do during the designated teaching hours.
the teachers of the course for both, level one and level two were really profesionals and had a very good grasp of the subject .
i managed to make many friends doing that course and i would love to continue with learning spanish , even after i finished university.
