The university's student union has something for everyone; sports clubs, societies and language lessons to name a few. Each sport society has a committee that is peer-elected to represent their members and strives to improve the experience for all. The SU also organises loads of careers fairs that are available to both second year students ahead of their year in industry and final year students as they are graduating. The support offered to these students during a crucial part of their life is fantastic! The library is 5 floors but often it is hard to get a seat but the university is working hard to amend this by announcing study spaces in other parts of the university.

The facilities are great, especially the university gym. The library is very accessible and communal and there is also a second library in town for second and third years off campus. Lectures are well organised and many lectures are available online which helps students keep up during busier periods. My course would have been better if there were more modules updated to relate more to the real world.

BA (Hons) Modern Languages and European Studies (Spanish and ab initio Russian)
4.0 out of 5 stars based on 1 review
4.0 / 1 review

My degree has not only allowed my to improve my language skills, it has allowed me to gain great historical and political knowledge of Europe. The first year was really enjoyable. The Russian course was very intense but rewarding with very many contact hours. Spanish recapped A level and expanded on existing knowledge. However, European studies was by far the most enjoyable part of the week. Lectures and seminars about the history of Europe really interested me. The second year (my current year) is much harder.

BSc (Hons) Natural Sciences

It is a well balanced course. The student are able to choose their modules according to their interest. We have about 15h of lectures a week, many students have additional labs.
There are good and bad lecturers but tutors are very helpful and a lot of support is given.

FDS Sport (Sports Performance)
4.0 out of 5 stars based on 1 review
4.0 / 1 review

Sports Performance is the perfect degree for anyone who wants to study a sports science course and still have the time to train full time along side studying as a student athlete. The course contains all the components of a worthwhile BSc while appreciating that studying students are additionally full time athletes, providing support. The course starts with 2 foundation years, with the final 3rd year acting as a top up from a foundation degree to a full BSc.

Course module review - Modern Methods of Researching Neurodegeneration, 23/03/2017

Modern Methods of Researching Neurodegeneration
2.0 out of 5 stars based on 1 review

Overall I would not recommend this module for final year/masters students. The module is a seminar based unit-50% of your grade is for a presentation, 40% for an essay, and 10% for participation in discussions.

For the presentations, groups were often given conflicting information on what was expected from our presentation. Some were told that "Modern" in the unit title meant we should only (or largely) be discussing research from the last 3 year, whilst others were told that some research hasn't been continued for several years, so others could be used.

Course module review - Introduction to Quantum Physics, 14/02/2017

Introduction to Quantum Physics
5.0 out of 5 stars based on 1 review

Quantum physics is an extremely mathematical unit with some hard concepts to grasp. There are a lot of derivations and not everything follows the usual laws of physics! Having said that, the lecturers are extremely helpful in this unit and always willing to talk to the students to try and help them understand when they are struggling. They have at least one problems class per week in which students can go along and complete problems with the lecture present for help if they get stuck. Once you get past the mathematical aspect of this unit, it is a really interesting thoughtful course.
