I am studying midwifery at Bedfordshire uni. I am based at the Aylesbury campus, the course itself is really good, it is a tad unorganised, but generally well run. All of the lecturers are brilliant and provide great support. The downside of being based in Aylesbury is there is no student accommodation through the uni, the accommodation through the hospital is of a very poor standard, there is also no student union for any students to meet those from other years and to arrange social events. Some of our uni days are also in Luton which is a long way to go for a few hours. The learning experience and resources used for learning have been of a very high standard, the skills labs are very useful and help with the training required. The library in Luton has recently been done up and is huge. There is so much space this is great. However the one in Aylesbury is a bit of a let down in comparison.

Course review , 01/07/2016

Attending University had changed my life, my first day was epic, and was excited for the years to come. The support I was provided with was amazing, nothing like college where teachers would teach from a text book and tell us to do the research ourselves. Whenever I had struggled in university, I knew my tutor was only an email away. For a student who wasn’t confident enough, I am now thinking about enrolling onto my Masters Degree, and then progress onto my PhD.

All the topics covered whilst studying for the degree all accumulate to make you a great sports therapist. Not only are the essentials learnt, external qualifications are also earned that are compulsory and are free or can be undertaken at a hugely discounted price. Every task involves working in groups, which means everyone across the course and different years are friendly with one another and we are all very close. The staff take the feedback they get from students very seriously, and will improve or change any thing that students wish to (within reason).

The course overall is enoyable, it opens your eyes to how vast the world of sports therapy can be branching from maintenance to rehabilitation of an individual. The university are responsive to the type of feedback that students provide making amendments where both students and staff fell is appropriate for example adding extra practical time for seminars that student have required more time in.

Course module review - Field Practice, 23/05/2016

This is unit is definitely the most enjoyable out of the 3 years (for me anyway). This module gives every student in the year to apply their skills that they acquired in the first year to real life clients. 5 hours are undertaken in the university clinic, offering massage treatments to clients. Another 20 hours must be completed on a external placement to undertake pitch side first aid that the university organises based on preferences a student has chosen on a form. They include placements such as alongside the university sports teams, Luton town rugby club, St.

Course module review - Advanced Digital Communication, 19/05/2016

I didn't really have a least favourite module as they all had good aspects. However this module was probably the most challenging and a lot of prior knowledge was assumed. This module was taught in the first semester, but could be understood better after learning the modules taught in the second semester. The first significant piece of coursework of the year was an experiment and lab report for this module which was quite difficult, but guidance was given.

Course module review - Workplace Psychology, 11/05/2016

Submitted by Anonymous on

I studied this unit in my second year and is still my absolute favourite. It encouraged my love for HR, people and wanting to help people progress. The unit really helped me understand how I was likely to fit within a business, within a team and how I was able to understand others. My tutor Sarah was absolutely amazing and would not have passed the unit without her.
