The University of Birmingham

The university has such a perception surrounding it because Birmingham still has such a stigma around the city. This could not be more incorrect, the campus is beautiful and so insanely green and comforting. Furthermore, the facilities are fab, the gym and library are state of the art. The first year accommodation is amazing, especially if you're on the vale! In general Birmingham is a city with so much to offer, couldn't recommend it more.

Decent but too much words on slides and pointless information in lectures. Poor organisation and some lecturers are crap

Absolutely love Birmingham. The Campus is great with loads of renovation being done as well. Lots of facilities in terms of spa and stationary shops, coffee shops, and the University train station so it’s easy to hop into town. Also the people are a mix from all over and it has a really friendly feel. I’m studying medicine so can also vouch for the medschool and QEHB, and also have done a free language course this year which are available to all Brum students. Also the night life in Birmingham is overflowing with choices if you chose to go, as well as uni run society events and socials - there’s always something to do! Also around exam season the Guild of Students throws random free events like cuddling puppies or free bumper cars!

As a postgraduate student, I love my course. Well structured most of the time. Facilities in the medical school are great, we are separate from the rest of the campus but super close to the hospital where we sometimes go for teaching. I don’t have much contact with the student union but it sounds like they are doing great things!

Great uni, great campus, great sports facilities. The management of the uni isn't great and some things are underfunded for the amount of money the uni makes, however best night life I've been to.

Beautiful campus and great research facilities. Library is not big enough. Don’t not provide enough support staff for mental illness.

This university is next to none, great links with the local communities and all that Birmingham has to offer. Many departments feel like close knit families.

I am nearly finishing my first year at the university of Birmingham and have loved my experience so far! The city is never dull and the nightlife is amazing. It caters to whatever you enjoy, with nights out ranging from techno raves to your average chain clubs. The university itself has a beautiful campus and lots of places to eat and study. The library is state of the art and has just been renovated, including almost any book you could ever need (one thing I would say is get there early as it is hard to find a seat!). Overall just a very good, accommodating university experience.

The campus is going under renovations but other than it’s very nice one of the best campus based units I’ve seen. Facilities I think the uni can improve more on there study spaces other than that everything else is excellent.

I'm only a first year but I've already fallen in love with my University! I never really engaged with High School or college, but university has captured my attention from the beginning. It has been amazing with all the things the university has to offer - some of my favourite societies, one of which I am now President, and open lecture series on some really interesting topics such as the exclusion of women from academia.

The uni campus is great and everyone ive met so far has been brilliant. Majority of the lectures I take are of some value, however, some of the course content and structure could be improved. The local student area is full of crime.

range of subjects, lecturers are outstanding, use of panopto making it easy for us to catch up on any missed work or go back over anything, easy access to help if needed, very supportive, campus is easy to move around maps etc

Picking UoB has been the best decision of my life. The campus is beautiful and it is right in the heart of a city. I absolutely love the uni and the atmosphere is just great. We have one of the largest student unions and the career services are just wonderful. I have been here less than a year and I'm already sad that I'll be leaving in 2 years.

Cracking uni, had so much fun! Beautiful campus, great course and would love to get the chance to do it all again!

The campus is pretty good but some of the buildings could do with an update. My course (geography) is good in general but there are some annoying compulsory modules that I don't enjoy, as well as some stupid pieces of group work.

Its a brilliant university with a great support system. My degree is fairly stressful and the university has an amazing place to go an talk to staff if there is a problem. It is vey inclusive. The course is also very interesting.

Beautiful campus and atmosphere with a strong student union and loads of events happening. Careers services and staff are very helpful towards both home and international students. Loving the new sports centre and library.

The University of Birmingham is a red brick uni, it has beautiful buildings and grounds. Campus is spread over a large area with lots of green spaces. There is a new sport and fitness centre which has a lot of facilities and where most of the sports societies meet/train.

Campus is big and have a nice community feel about it compared to a city university. The library is great but needs more seats! The new sports centre again is amazing but needs more memberships!

Campus is great, course is good but lacks organisation, union is okay, careers I haven't used.

The university offers a range of opportunities to be involved in student life and aims to fully integrate students through the guild of students. The facilities are in the process of being upgraded and so right now, they aren't great, but they have the potential to compete with universities across the world. Overall, the student life is good and the experience is am enjoyable one.

My university has a good student union that organises many activities and nights out. In addition to this, we have a library which is massive and all the staff working at uob are very helpful.

The inivetsity seems pretty decent however the lectures could be better, some I feel as if the professors simply just read out from the lecture handouts.
