The University of Birmingham

The campus is overall very beautiful. It has a mixture of old architecture along with new, such as the new library. However, there is lots of construction all the time therefore it is sometimes hard to appreciate it. The old library was demolished to make space for a “green area” which seems slightly gimmicky. There are not enough open study spaces to revise at, especially during exam season, which is why knocking down the old library made very little sense. My course, mechanical engineering, was overall good however was lacking in certain aspects such as lecturers who clearly did not care, this showed in their teaching, and other poorly coordinated modules, particularly the group project modules.

Beautiful campus with great facilities. The new library is a great addition and there are many more projects on the go to get new state of the art buildings for biology etc.

Birmingham was absolutely fantastic - gorgeous grounds, excellent clubs and societies and amazing friends made! The Drama course is on another campus - as opposed to the main one (unfortunately), but the fact the course is ranked #1 in the league tables says it all.

The university is very good in terms of buildings and people but is terrible in the organisation. There are so many things that can be fixed just by a little bit of organising!

Uob has a beautiful campus, however it is having a huge renovation so loads of building work atm, but hopefully should be even better at the end. The university is respected and recognised by employers but is a very academic and traditional university. There are loads of extra opportunities such as socities, working for the university, getting involved in enterprise schemes or learning a new language.

The campus is beautiful but is currently being completely renovated so loads of building work, but hopefully should be even better. The university itself is a respected university but very academic. The student union is large and great. There are loads of extra opportunity such as socities, working as an ambassador, getting involved with enterprise schemes or learning a new language!

Amazing campus, lots of new facilities and buildings worth hundreds of millions of pounds. Good opportunities for societies and sports groups.

My university experience has been varied, and I have enjoyed many parts of University life. My course has been interesting and challenging enough for the most part, and the facilities have been fantastic. The careers service and academic writing services in particular have been outstanding, with lots of support available for students.

Fanatastic university, only one in the Uk with its own train station. The medical school has all facilities desirable as its in the own building therefore enough study spaces to work at. Staff do take on student feedback and try some changes to improve the course. Food is expensive in the canteens but there is a large variety throughout campus. Location is ideal to the city center and student accomadation is in a beautiful location.

Overall a great uni for anyone and everyone. They tailor to a lot of subjects and the extra curricular activities and facilities on board help keep your mind going in your spare time.

Overall, the university is fantastic, however there are parts of the university which bring the review down. For instance, the lack of counseling and mental health services for students is awful (considering our vice chancellor is paid the most in the country) and the brand new Sport and Fitness centre - though state of the art - favours certain sports and ignores a number of sports e.g. cricket.

The University of Birmingham has without a doubt the best campus in the UK- a picturesque red brick campus. My campus has great facilities, however the student union could be improved.

Uni of Birmingham is a great uni and the campus is really lovely. Recently a lot have improvements have been done to campus, including a new library with much more study space and an amazing new sports centre which caters for nearly every sport.

The campus of the university if Birmingham is very pretty and have really old buildings making it beautiful to look at. They are making a new green area where the old library is which will.make the uni look outstanding. We have great sports facilities for all sports.

Recent and continued work on the campus is ever improving the aesthetic of the university. The 'green heart' is making fast progress and ensuring a beautiful green surrounding to the incredible red brick buildings that are so famous. The facilities on campus are second to none, everything you could need within a small radius, including the student union who are always welcoming and ready to assist you. Although I did not make use of the careers services I am well aware that they exist and that students are encouraged and directed towards these. My whole experience has been wonderful, I wanted a campus university and I was very much in the uni bubble, living on the vale, only a short walk to campus, then moving to selly oak, a mainly student living area again, an even shorter walk to campus. We also have our own campus train station making travelling/ visiting the city ridiculously easy.

I had an incredible experience at the University of Birmingham. So incredible in fact, I'm still here six years later. The campus is beautiful, they're upgrading facilities all the time, the teaching is excellent and the standard of research they produce is world-class. The reason this review is 4 stars instead of 5, is that there can be a lack of communication to students about upcoming changes to the University, and occasionally it seems students only look like pound signs rather than actual people. But if I have to get into serious debt to go to University, I'm glad it was at Birmingham.

The campus is incredibly beautiful as well as well stocked with high tech equipment and resources. The new library is amazing and made doing research etc so much easier. Staff that I studied with were all exceptionally friendly and student focused. There are so many events put on by the university and the SU also that I really couldn't have picked a better place to study.

Never had much interaction with student union, course was very difficult with little help available. Campus was beautiful but lacked library space.

The campus is really pretty. Just renovated the central green space which is great. The city isn't the prettiest but it's an hour train away from London and very very central in the UK. The organisation of things on campus is also very good, there's a uni page consisting of everyone at the uni.

During my time here there has been a lot of construction work but apart from that he campus has got to be one of the nicest looking university campuses. Once completed it will look even better. There has been a lot of money spent to improve campus while I have been here. The new sports centre is 100 x better than the previous one. It is much bigger and has a lot more facilities. There are lots of new places to study now which I feel was needed since before there was never enough seats in the library. I also like that you can check online how full each place is. One thing I can say is that a lot of things on campus are too expensive. Things like food are very overpriced and gym memberships do not include classes or anything else which all work out to be expensive.
