I believe Bradford itself has a bad reputation but coming from South Wales to the university of Bradford, in my opinion, the university and its surroundings are great. The city is small and makes it so much easier coming from a small town to a city like Bradford. The university building is one of the best I have seen, their lectur rooms are great, plenty of room and not old fashioned. The lecturers are amazing, friendly, and go out of their way to help you through your degree. I am studying a four year sandwich course in Forensic archaeology and anthropology and am now coming up to my fInal year and have thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely miss the course and my lecturers. The careers service is great and gives good advice and support. The student union is constantly developing and bringing new things to students which is great. It gets the students involved and has great communication and advertising.

Large campus with two great shops, a Costa and a Starbucks. Excellent learning facilities as well as a prayer room for Muslim students. Careers service are helpful. Teaching is excellent.

The placements in my degree have been very good, however I feel the academic modules have got progressively worse over the last three years and I have found to be inconsistent and dull. Most of my learning has happened when writing assignments or revising how exams, however I feel unsupported in this. Whilst I have learnt a lot in my time at university, unfortunately I would not recommend my course to others.

Optometry at the University of Bradford is a fun and varied course that not only teaches you the clinical side of Optometry but also builds your understanding of Optics and other neighbouring fields like Psychophysics and Statisical Analysis of Ocular Diseases. We also get to learn about Dispensing which is fundamental to any Optometric Practice functioning efficiently as it is a module about how spectacles and contact lenses are made.

This degree program has helped me gain and develop the skills I will need to move forward towards a career in teaching at post graduate level. The teaching has been of a good standard with the lecturers developing a strong professional relationship with my cohort. Helping me on a personal level when I became homeless for a short period.

This module at first seems not relevant to the course that I am studying however once I really got stuck in to this assignment I really nderstood the whole of a patients pathway much better it had given me consideration of the whole of the hosptial staff that work together to provide an all round service and not just the one department I work in

This module was relatively new but the content was similar to previous years, the changes were based on student feedback. So this was a positive beginning to the module as it was clear that changes were made for us to better learn it. All the lectures were so interesting and appealing, such as vision and auditory lectures. There were also practical workshops which allowed us to apply knowledge to practice and use anatomical applications such as a touch model. It was a hard module and a lot of pressure but at every stage there was help.
