there were loads of new and excited people who were just as ready as me to get down to the unii life and ejoy ourselves. my favourite part was probably the fair there was loads to do and join and see. samples and gifts are always welcome and i came home with loads lol. the events were good and not that expensive but wouod have been good if there was something that involved the wholleeee uni

University helped me around the university and let me know a lot of information! However freshers fair is always a bit disappointing! There's never many freebies or things that matter too much to me

I had a great time at freshers week, as I was staying in halls I got to meet loads of new people at pre drinks before the actual freshers events. However, I can imagine if you wasn't in halls it would be hard to meet lots of people just at the clubs. My tip for new freshers is just be yourself and become friends with as many people as possible, don't be lazy and just talk to the same people!

Freshers week for those in student housing rather than halls was lacking. We received little information on what was on a apart from through social media. The 'freshers band' for club nights was not at all worth the £70, although I went out almost every night of freshers I didn't use my band once as to get free entry into clubs you had to be there before 11, which was a bit of a scam. Overall I wasn't very impressed with freshers

The events wernt that great and had large ques even though it was wristband entry. Very spesific taste in music and it was not really my thing. Felt like i was just drinking to enjoy it which was fun but the events were rubbish.

We had wristbands like a festival, most of the clubs had an event on and there was lots of fun events like animal night and a paint party! really enjoyed it and would do it all Ofer again

Excellent week, full of highlights , meeting new people and getting to experience Brighton in all the different scenarios. Great culture and club nights. Lots of student deals.

Freshers was overpriced and boring. Put in a house share and didnt get on with a few of them so felt like forced fun. Had more fun after freshers

AAA wristband was good as it was easy to use to get into venues meaning there was no hassle with payments. Events only included clubbing at night so was not easy to talk to people, they should do a few day events to allow you to meet new people.

Lots going on but only nightlife choices so was not easy to talk to people, they should do some daytime activities so you can actually meet new people. Events were good, AAA wristand was a great idea allowing you to get into all the freshers events making it easier than just paying every time.

It was a good week however they didn't really offer any socialising for anyone who is on their own. They need to make sure that people who are on their own can make some friends instead of just leaving them alone.

Moving in was easy and accessible, plenty of people around to assist. Dont waste your first night sorting your room. You have plenty of time to make it your own. Get out the essentials and go mingle. On our first night we introduced ourself to the people in the flat above and below and ended up on a massive group night out. This created a sociable and family member environment for us all. We joined up to fresher bar crawls and researched student nights out. It gave us all a social opportunity to get to know eachother. It’s how I met my best friend ☺️ Don’t hide away in your room, everyone is nervous, so go out and say hello! Go to the freshers fair and ALWAYS bring a pack of cards with you to halls.

Freshers week was fun, we are split campuses. The small campus put on a mini bus to transfer students to Brighton to party at freshers. Lots of activities and social events happening

Freshers week was one of the best time i had in my life, so much fun and parties i have wasted half of my student loan in one week. But worth it

Freshers week, when thousands of people flock to the sea front for what may well be the first night out, as part of their uni experience. However, it is those thousands of flocking people that make it almost impossible to enter a club before 1am. Get down early If you actually plan on getting in!

Best 2 weeks of my life. I’ve never consumed so much alcohol or cheesy chips ever. Met the most amazing people, kicked out a couple times and literally died for about 3 weeks straight when it was all over. #freshersflu

Amazing time met loads of new people where we all got along really well. Nightlife was good and the atmosphere everywhere was amazing

When I first moved to Manchester I nearly got hit by a tram three times in the first week. For large, metal objects they move remarkably quietly and if you're from a tramless town or city, you need to get used to them. They run all across the city centre and out to the north, south east and west of Manchester. At times, the Metrolink network can appear to be some sort of avant garde art installation as it is prone to the odd breakdown, and the ticket machines can be...temperamental. They're a good way of getting around relatively cheaply though.ou'll like it there. Loads of bars, independent shops, interesting places to visit and plenty of characters. You can basically wear what you like and nobody will really bat an eyelid. There's a big shopping arcade called Afflecks which has loads of great shops and boutiques selling the weird and wonderful , a cereal cafe and plenty of places you can get your new best mate's name tattooed on your bum cheeks.Massive building containing loads of bars, a cinema, and crucially, a branch of Nando's. My first week at uni (freshers week) was quite an experience. With loads to do like going to listen to heavy metal bands with some ridiculous names like clit drip was a real eye opener. Then, for some contrast, there was yoga which was very pleasant. There was also a music quiz which involved beer and pizza! For me, I was quite fortunate as I was moving into a house with all my friends that I’d made on my foundation course. Not to say it was easy as it was the first time I had to completely fend for myself but it has been a great learning experience. Although it might seem quite overwhelming and exciting you shouldn’t take freshers week very seriously, or seriously at all. Take it with a pinch of salt. Everyone is in the same boat in the sense that everyone is wondering what is being though of them by others. You will meet some interesting people during the events that take place during freshers week and they will all be wearing the biggest smile and be very happy to chat. Make the most of it because that first wave of enthusiasm unfortunately wares off. Once everyone has settled in and got more comfortable with their surroundings they tend to lose themselves off from new experiences. Remember you are at uni to have fun and get to where you want to be so don’t be reserved and go meet some lovely people you enjoy spending time with and start making important contacts that will be able to offer you a helping hand in your future endeavours.

It was good cus I made mates and it was a good experience as we drank lots and went to different events

Best was meeting the people I met, I think I got lucky in that I met my 4 closest friends on the very first day. Worst was how ill it made me, I couldn't eat without vomiting for a good week after and obviously the freshers flu. The best freshers weeks are in second and third year though when you aren't a fresher and you're just partying and have a good time with people you actually care about.

I don't really like the freshers vibe in general as I find it quite cringe. People get to plastered for the sake of it. Rather go out with my own crew and do our own s*it

There was tonnes of events to go to! So much choice and range for almost every type of student. Brighton is pretty expensive in general, so freshers was a good way to save some money and have a great time!
