I love the University of Exeter for many reasons – too many to list here. The main reason though is probably the fact that here in Exeter you get the best of both. You have the beautiful campus and then the city/town right next to it, so you have everything you need close by but you still feel like you’re in a close community. Another reason I love the University is because it is very modern and has excellent facilities such as the new Sports Park (although I don’t use it, it’s clearly very good), and a wide range of different accommodation to suit various budgets. Also, the Careers part of the University (called MyCareer Zone) has so many excellent resources and opportunities to help get an internship, part-time job, graduation job, etc. and the support is impeccable. They’re just a few reasons why I love UofE.

Coming from a low-income background, the Access to Exeter bursary has helped me a lot.

I’m part of the AccessAbility here at Exeter and I can say that I’m so grateful for all the support they’ve given me during my time here so far.

BSc (Hons) Biochemistry

This is a great subject to choose if you are fascinated into how life began and how life continues to thrive through the intricate details and biochemistry of living organisms. The lecturers are great with excellent resources uploaded online. The support is brilliant too as each student has 2 tutors, one for acedemic purposes and one for pastoral reasons! The biology society is also huge with over 300 members and has socials nearly every week!

I feel the degree programme at Exeter that I attend is really well structured, teaching everyone the basics and getting everyone to the same level in first year, before giving you the freedom to completely choose all your modules in 2nd and 3rd year.

The university is a very beautiful place to be - it is often said that students enjoy being on campus, and a fact that we always boast about is that Exeter university has the highest student to tree ratio, which means that there's loads of green space. There is also a great range of students here at the university, all from differing backgrounds and nationalities. My course (LLB) is challenging yet highly rewarding, it is not too complex for me. Teaching is good - lectures are recorded and can be played back online, assessments are manageable - I love my uni!

Course module review - Approaches to Criticism, 10/03/2017

This module aim to introduce you to the main critical theories in a chronological fashion. This compulsory module feels like a nice balance to the rest of the modules which are composed of more A level 'traditional' English type material. This module seemed to follow on very well from my A level politics studies.
