Number 1 piece of advice I would give to someone going to university is to join a club or society. It is the quickest way to make friends outside of your flatmates. Even if you aren’t good at the sport, turn up as a beginner and learn something new. Badminton at the University of Glasgow is very popular so sometimes there can be long waits for courts. It also only has 2 teams so if you are wanting to play competitively you might want to go to Edinburgh who has many more teams and so you are a lot more likely to get a chance to play for them. Socials are usually run on a Wednesday and are a great way to interact with other players off court.

Great city! Big shopping centre where you can find everything you need, lots of student-friendly places to eat and, of course, brilliant nights out
