Very solid university, facilities are awesome, and the staff are very friendly, the business school in particular has very well educated staff. The social aspect of the university is very important and is great, all around its a great university.

They have a great structure for international students, but as I wasn't one myself, I can't speak too much for it

BA (Hons) Tourism Management

The first year of the degree was at an A Level standard so I do not feel it increased in difficulty to when I was at college. So I did not think the first year really helped towards my development. Year 2 was a lot better with really interesting modules - there were 4 each semester - and the option to do languages was really important to me so I took Spanish during this year alongside my mandatory modules. I had the opportunity to go on a placement during my 3rd year which was really encouraged by the lecturers and it was probably the best and most useful part of university.

During my three years I've covered some really interesting topics and such a broad range of subjects too. Lots of opportunity for extra curricular activities that can benefit you in terms of finding a job (Formula Student, shell eco marathon etc)
However the facilities are massively under-utilised by the staff teaching the course and several times across different modules content has been repeated which is frustrating at times, some content is also very old and needs updating which hopefully will occur next year for future students.

The course is well structured. The exams are spread out across semesters so you don't have loads of them to do at one time. Assessments are usually set around the same time and due in for a similar time. This may seem like a very stressful thing to do however I believe it prepares us students for upcoming years where we will have a lot of assignments due the same time. The feedback is usually constructive however some inconsistencies are present. Overall a well taught subject with passionate and knowledgeable lecturers.

This module was probably the most beneficial for myself at university. During final year of university, after completing a study abroad and work placement in France, I was certain on pursuing a career completely in Marketing without having a true passion for this as a job. I was unsure when coming back what my career path would be or if I would enjoy anything within Business.
