Musical Theatre

I am in 2nd Year and studying Drama and Theatre at Kent Uni. I joined the Musical Theatre Society (MTS) in 1st year and I haven't looked back since. I've managed to get into our showcase every term and been lucky enough to do solo performances in each one. The society as a whole is fantastic for a mass of reasons. The main ones are firstly: it brings students together who wouldn't normally socialise on campus due to their courses. They all come together with one common interest among them and therefore support one another. Secondly: it makes you feel part of a big family of friends you can turn to if either you have any issues or equally want to go out and socialise and feel a part of something important to you, even if you are not in a show that term, there are plenty of socials and productions roles to keep you involved. Thirdly, we put on professional standard performances which are very popular not just with the University students but also the general public as we get to perform in the Gulbenkian Theatre on campus and the amazing purpose built Colyer Furgusson which is a fantastic venue for music and musical theatre. I couldn't rate the society any higher and hope people join every year to keep it going strong! P.s. It's a very cheap society to be a part of! Win! win!
