My course is pretty good
Nice campus, everything is in walking distance and there's a real sense of community. The union is good but more expensive than i would like/have had expected.
Leeds is a campus based university so everything is very accessible and it's great for my degree (natural sciences) as I study several disciplines so often have to move between departments for each lecture. The student union, laboratories and lecture theatres are of a high standard. I particularly find the lecture capture service (all lectures are recorded and published on the vle) very helpful, especially when it comes to revision. My personal and academic tutors are very helpful and there's lots of other opportunities for support from the careers team, staff at the student union and from peer mentors in upper Year groups. Overall I love the university of Leeds.
Very interesting course, great teachers with amazing experience. Amazing careers opportunities and help with career centres, often employees on campus. Very good student union with regular events.
The Campus is beautiful and the new student union is great! The nightlife in Leeds was amazing, apart from Fruity. It was the best four years of my life!
Very pretty campus for the most part, good facilities and good support network when struggling. Also alot of library workshops to help people struggling.
The campus is beautiful, so many different spaces to hang out and study. Not to mention the union which is amazing, there’s so many facilities to use! There’s loads of places to get nice food too! There are always careers events going on to help you think about your future, and there’s an advice centre located in the union where you can just drop in.
Union is great, day or night. Lecturers are very knowledgeable in their fields. Campus is great as all you need is one very accessible place. The edge sports center has everything you'd want to do sports wise
Mechanical engineering in the University of Leeds is the 1st in the UK. This can be proven by observing the facilities offered to the mechanical engineering students. The facilities are all brilliant and updated. The lecture halls are fully occupied with lecture capture which make it easier for students to review the lectures anytime anywhere. The renovation made to the Leeds University Union (LUU) creates a cozy and comfortable space for students. All students' necessities for example food, hangout place and job hunting, can be done at LUU.
The university is good, however I feel that the main building where the lectures are are very outdated and the lecturers could be more enthusiastic and teach, rather than just copy up the online notes already available, onto the whiteboard.
Good range of courses. Facilities are all state of the art. Great nightlife. Great accommodation. Great lecturers. High grade requirements however which could detract people from applying.
My course is very organised and we have lots of help planning our future, I am doing a year in industry as we had the option of a careers module. Which gave me lots of preparation that helped me have successful interviews
The campus is really well layed out and feels really big but it doesn’t actually take too long to get from one side to the other. The facilities are excellent with constant improvements being made to them. Everything is well organised and there’s never been a time where I haven’t been given information on what I was supposed to be doing.
I’m studying BA English, Language and Education and the student support (particularly in the school of education) has been amazing! I am a narcoleptic student and whenever I have had a problem, everyone has been so understanding and helped to resolve matters!
The course has engaged me greatly, from work in the labs to tutorials to the lectures. I enjoy learning biology and Leeds because we often learn about things in lectures and then get to see it in action in the labs. The fact that the labs are modern means we get to use the latest equipment, some of which is not available at other universities.
really goof that we have a market on campus on a monday. mixes things up and it's nice to be able to purchase from local yorkshire retailers. there are some things that aren't perfect about uni but there's always going to be something
University of leeds has a good learning environment with supportive staff Library’s have a wide variety of resources
Campus is big and modern, with great courses covering loads of topics. Its really close to the city centre and the accomodation is all really nice too.
Solid uni
The campus is in a great location and very close to town, with lots of areas close by to live in for second year. My course (dentistry) is very practical and hands on from first year, in comparison to other universities, and you get to see patients and treat your own patients very early on, giving you vital experience so you are more confident with your own work.
Great facilities and the campus right next to city centre. Course (International Business and Marketing) is good but maybe not enough hours compared to other degrees e.g. science, seems a lot less contact hours for the same price. Really handy location and great Union with bars and cafes as well as places just to chill.
The campus is a city campus which is convenient for people who are used to a city life and want an easy transition when moving up north e.g. From somewhere like London. The student mental health facilities are excellent and the union offer a variety of things to cater for all students. The welfare is excellent,
The campus is lovely, condensed in a good way and lots of different and interesting buildings. Union is brand new and lovely to spend time in.
The campus itself is great, plenty to do, a great student union and very close to the city centre. The facilities are also good, especially the library, with the only problem being a lack of printing budget. The course I was on (Mathematics) was not good, extremely unorganised and rushed with not much guidance, no help available other than lectures (with only a few members of staff being exceptions and going out of their way to organise meetings with students and revision sessions).
