I have really enjoyed my time at Leicester University and will be sad to leave. I was drawn to Leicester on the open day because of the happy and welcoming vibe on campus -and this has continued throughout the years. I have found the campus to be the perfect size - not too big like some universities or to small and it is easy to navigate. There are also plenty of food options and places to sit on campus for lunch - the campus even backs onto Victoria park which is so nice to sit on during breaks in the summer! The library on campus is wonderful - it’s modern and they always have the books I need but you can easily order any book in and in general it’s a nice place to study. The student union is the main building on campus where people tend to gather- the vibe in there is also really friendly but I think more seating would be useful as it gets pretty busy during lunch time. In terms of societies and clubs, it seems that Leicester has something for everybody and though I haven’t got too involved in societies, a lot of my friends have only had good things to say! I prefer to use the gym- the gym on campus (a membership gives you access to the gym on campus and in Oadby) also has a pool and runs daily classes. I have had no issues with my course; I enjoy the lectures, the tutors are friendly and knowledgeable and always respond to emails quickly - which is definitely helpful! Would definitely recommend Leicester University!

Course review , 02/06/2018

I have just finished my second year of studying Mathematics BSc and so far, I am pleased with how UOL have ran the course. So here are a few factors that make UOL a fantastic University to study this course at:

·         Excellent delivery of content – I find the lectures run smoothly. Whether it’s displaying lecture slides on a projector, using a whiteboard or explaining the material, it’s always been easy to understand what is going on.

I love my degree due to its diversity. International Relations includes politics and history, two subjects that, I believe, are vitally important to the development of society. In my degree, the modules challenge me in new ways, encourage me to read outside of the set reading list as each subject we cover, spikes my interest. Some theorists may seem a little dry sometimes, but the tutors and lecturers encourage us to compare and contrast theories with current happenings, which allows me to relate or at least understand the ideology.

It's very exciting to study Computer Science at the University of Leicester because it gives you a great environment for developing applications of any kind and offers great modules that are based on the latest technologies out there.

Course module review - Perceiving the Past, 24/05/2016

Submitted by Anonymous on

This one was one my favourite modules of the course, it was very interesting, and I enjoyed the fact that the students were allowed to pick their own topics to be taught in the seminars. However, the compulsory essay on empiricism was hard to achieve a good grade on because there was only 2,500 words available, and over 1000 students completing it. Therefore, it was hard to be original.

Course module review - Terrorism, 22/05/2016

Submitted by Anonymous on

I was very unhappy with this module. I felt the teaching for this module had not been tailored to criminology students at all. I felt the lecturer was very knowledgable however expected us to know a lot of the information that he hadn't taught us making the lectures extremely hard to follow and engage with. I felt this was the general feel throughout the module for the other students and although the lecturer is very helpful, I really did not enjoy this module at all
