I have previously studied at another university where I completed my bachelors degree. I didn't enjoy it at all at the time and thought I'd never go back to academia. More than five years later, I decided to complete an MBA and applied to a number of local universities. Although the interview process was great for a couple of others, Northumbria universoty's business school really stood out! I got a warm welcome, I found out about what I would study and when and really got me excited about the possibilities that would follow. I am now a year in, I've nade come incredible friends and connections, had the opportunity to be thought by world class academics and practitioners and I am positive that the decision has already changed by life. I would warmly recommend it!

I have attended both the university of Leeds and Northumbria University and I must say that Northumbria trumps Leeds for student support, welfare, approachable and friendly staff and give good feedback. The student union bar is also really good and serve good food.

Great university, great facility but very disorganised. Great location and great accommodation. Lecturer's very disorganised and out of touch with students.

The university is great, the city is amazing, the tutors are very nice, the course is not very practical (Business with entrepreneurship) but I loved my experience within the university! The facilities are really good and the staff is always helpful

Mixture of quality when it comes to lecturers. Modules are interesting but some are unorganised. Module assessment suit students which are better at course work rather than exams.

A good uni that provides good opportunities with sport teams to games all over the country that is a good experience.

Northumbria university is great. All the staff and students that attend the university are welcoming. The university always has something exciting going on. The university ski trips are amazing. The student union has a great atmosphere and is affordable. It's located in one of the best cities (Newcastle)

I attended this uni for 3 years studying Law with Business as a undergraduate. This course was interesting in that in combined different aspects of Law and Business. Many lecturers were very engaging and helpful offering students help and guidance continually throughout, whenever requested through email etc and provided interesting lectures. Furthermore, there was a use of Panapto which meant lectures were recorded and posted online which was incredibly helpful to refer back to when making notes. However, the negative of this university was that there was a lack of support from the actual university staff and course leaders. Throughout my experience at Northumbria there was never any staff available for help at the ask4help student help service points either via phone or via email also. Upon beginning the third year of University at Northumbria, my entire course had missed the first 2 weeks of lectures as the university had failed to produce a timetable for the entire course. This resulted in missed lectures and took two weeks to resolve despite nearly every student from the course messaging the university and physically requesting a timetable from the student help office. When timetables we're finally received, lectures we went to attend were over filled and the rooms were not adequate for the large amount of students attending which resulted in students missing lectures as there were no spaces available. Furthermore, when emailing the course leader for vital information regarding resits etc and advice, there was often no response despite waiting weeks for replies. There were also times when a rare response was received from the course leader and a face to face meeting was organised for a particular time and date but the course leader failed to make an appearance. The continual failure to provide any support to the students and continual administrational failures throughout the years of studying at Northumbria University has resulted in my disappointment.

During my 3 years of studying at Northumbria university I would say my experience was a pleasurable one and felt the first 2 years of studying I have been through were enjoyable and the support I received throughout was superb and the staff were a huge reason as to why I got through the times I was struggling.

The campus and facilities are great, a large, well stocked library, brilliant sports centre, close to town and a student union with great bars, food and lots of societies and clubs to join

Paying 9250 a year to watch powerpoints. Otherwise pretty snazzy. The bars on campus are good and I get to have my starbies, then costa got a loyalty card so I'm well chuffed. Costas a bit wank cos it's like a machine and I love me some human interaction but whatevs.

The courses, facilities and buildings are amazing and kept up to date frequently. The amount of support available is great whether it's course specific, careers or even non-learning related things like mental health etc.

The campus ha needed a refurb for some time, although in the process of updating I.T facilities, the life sciences departments are outdated. Typically expect first year of a life sciences course to be laid back and perhaps not very useful and could be more informative. Lectures are nice although sometimes you feel they prioritise their own research interests over students achieving their desired degree classification, but will usually offer extra help if you ask

Great facilities with lots of up to date computers and printers. Library is very extensive and has a vast amount of books to check out which are helpful for your course. There is lots to do within the campus within the student union with lots of opportunities to meet new people and new activities. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

I don’t like the location of Northumbria as it is in Newcastle, however the facilities such as career services and the opportunity to travel to your choice of destination from a wide range different options for study or work abroad is a real strength of the university. I know a lot of universities which only offer study abroad in Europe. The campus itself is quite modern and well kept which is nice, the course itself is a little bland and were told we had more options for modules than we do but the quality of the content is good.

Very good student support centre, best city for international students. The program is well-designed with the combination of both theoretical and practical classes. Lecturers are helpful and supportive

Campus has been updated and looks modern, facilities are very good, my course is interesting, the student union is good and is sociable, would recommend to anybody looking for a university

Overall student experience is pretty good. Unlike some universities the students union is very popular and their is a very good student atmosphere. I study law and enjoy the course but there could be more student critiquing to see how I’m doing.
