The University of Nottingham

All the campuses are absolutelly stunning and the buildings are pretty sustainable, which is really important for me. We have many facilities around the campuses and the University is constantly expanding and improving. In terms of the student services provided, due to some restructuring last year, student services are in difficulty with managing the new systems. At the beginning of the year, staff is overwhelmed with inquiries regarding module choice or timetabling issues and standing in a queue can take a few hours. Mostly, I am pretty happy with our services and the new staff that has been employed. They are really nice and helpful, but they tend to be hard to reach as most of the meetings are in high demand. The careers services barely have empty slots nowadays. My course( BSc Management) is pretty boring and full of theory that we will never apply. However, due to our many optional modules we could also do interesting things such as finance or mathematics which are actually essential in the working place. Some modules need to be revised as they are useless and boring and some lecturers need to be better assesed because they do not even teach at all. They either read the slides, make us talk to each other the whole lecture, play videos the whole time or go to fast through really hard to comprehend lectures.

The campus is lovely and the facilities are excellent! As it was not my first choice uni I was nervous when starting but now in my last year I am absolutely in love with the uni and am having the best time and have made some amazing friends. The nightlife is unlike any other uni and there are so many social events!

The campus is really great, there are a lot of open study spaces and the facilities in the computer science department are amaazing! They have individual computers for each student and great up to date technology to play around with. The course is well structured and all lecturers are supportive and encouraging.

Great place to go to University, close to the city centre with an incredible campus and wide green spaces that make it a pleasure to live on. An well organised students union which organises many events. A brand new sports centre with incredible facilities.

The facilities are very advanced but there are aspects that would be considered unnecessary e.g. small changes that require footpaths to be blocked can be inconvenient at best. The campuses that I attend; Jubilee and University Park are both large and diverse in terms of staff and students and so it helps students learn about other cultures. The catering is not of the highest quality which could be solved by cooking simpler dishes as opposed dishes that have a lot of meat.

Both campuses are lovely and there are helpful resources to help you with careers, the future etc. Only bad thing is the support the university offers in terms of extenuating circumstances which is awful.

The campus is easy to find your way around with massive libraries too, the food hall has loads of choice especially if you go catered.

Great campus and nice mix of students from all over the world. SU is being redeveloped with a new outdoor screening area and terrace and inside there will be new chill out spaces for students. Brand new David Ross sports village is a huge draw for those interested in sports!!!

The University campus is beautiful and the buildings are well prepared for the large number of students, there are enough facilities to provide everyone with ample study space. The staff is always helpful and the quality of lectures manageable however in my opinion there are too many students in each lecture and sometimes individual attention is lacking.

Nottingham gets the balance just right with regard to location and culture. The campus is beautiful, spacious and enjoyable to be on, whilst the city has endless things to do. There are some areas, particularly science, where the buildings are slightly older and less attractive, but the actual facilities within them are good. The new David Ross Sports Center is amazing! The nightlife is amazing, with a huge range of nights to suit your preferences, as well as loads of restaurants and cafes for the day, and other activities such as watching ice-hockey matches, mini golf, bounce and escape rooms. The teaching quality at the University is outstanding, evidenced by the Gold level Teaching Award obtained by the University last year. I personally study law and my lecturers are leading experts or at the very least highly regarded academics, most of whom have been in practice for a number of years. Tutorials consist of small groups which heightens the level of engagement and understanding, and all professors within the school are available and willing to meet to talk through any issues we do not understand. The Student Union is also very good, with enthusiastic officers each year who are constantly improving what the University can offer. There are a vast range of societies and anyone can create a new society, which will be vetted by other student society presidents rather than staff at the University. The student voice is certainly heard. Practically, living accommodation is so cheap! You can get a very nice and sizeable house for £80 per week. The career services are outstanding and I personally have had very good experiences when meeting my careers advisor. Their advice really does make a difference and it was these meetings which changed by approach to applications and resulted in my graduate job offer. Overall its fab!

I find the campus to be very beautiful and the facilities top-notch. However the Students Union isn't what it's meant to be at all and I personally think the standard has dropped over the years. The careers services is great, very helpful. The Academic Aspect is a bit tough but it's very good experience

Warm and inviting university with great students and staff. The ground themselves are very beautiful and offer a juxtapose to the busy London life destined for many of us once finished university. Good quality teaching and support throughout the course. Very interactive SU, with lots of opportunities to contribute.

The main campus is beautiful all year round! The university has so many facilities to suit the needs of everyone. My course feels very well organised and the staff/lecturers are always happy to help.

An great university with a lot of supports from the staff. Provided generous student activities and supports for career. The campus is great and the city is lovely to live in.

Due to the revamping and renovation of several facilities, combined with an outstanding counselling and mental health service as well as careers and employ ability connections makes this university a very enjoyable and comfortable place for students to thrive.

Absolutely great freshers week out on by the SU. Campus is very out of the way (Sutton Bonington) so getting into the city centre is quite irritating.
