With GB level training, from an ex-GB rowing coach this society was value for money at the least for £150 p.a. The freshers activities for the rowing club were good but could have been bigger, however with the limited size of the boat club and size of the senior team this was understandable. Resources and equipment are brilliant, with tens of boats worth thousands each, the university has not held back funding this society. Social wise, the club often organise nights out at the beginning of the year to encourage the morale that is vital for team cohesion and performance in the coming seasons. Organisation was something that I would pick up on in terms of improvement from my time at the club, although I know now others have taken charge of this. Very tough training and is definitely the most dedicated and hardest working group of people at the uni. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the boat club and would have loved to continue, simply too time consuming if you would to stay on top of all work, and hold down a part time job, and maintain a social life outside of the club!
