I am in my third year of the photojournalism course at USW and I love it. The lecturers are so incredibly helpful and always availble to help students. They also gives us lots of opportunities to get real life experiences by working with a variety of different people. It is a very practical course that prepares all the students for getting a job after university. There are a lot of different modules that let you explore which areas of photojournalism interest you the most and in second and third year we are able to create our own projects.

Photojournalism is a great course taught by incredible lecturers that have been in the business themselves so they can pass on advice and experiences that they have had.

The entire course is focused around what you will do when you leave, rather than just trying to get you a good degree. There's something for everyone and the lecturers often learn new material to aid in the project that you are working on.

I like that is not just a course, the lecturers are genuinely interested in what you have to say and talk to you like real adults, rather than students that need to pass. They are always on the end of an email whenever you need them, even if its silly o'clock in the night, they are always around to help.

Without them, I definitely wouldn't feel as ready to graduate this summer as I currently do, that and I don’t want to leave!

the structure is tailored to making you ready to enter the workplace with the neccessary experience, as well as develop your skills as a photojournalist and have the knowledge of how to work as a freelancer. The lecturers guide you to develop your own ideas, and support you when needed. The lecturers have industry experience and are helpful, and almost always available. The theory module lecturers have been a tad ropey over the years, but the other lecturers will endeavour to help when they can, and are willing to take things further up the "chain" to try to get help.

This course has helped me grow as a photographer and a professional over the last 3 years due to the niche it has from other photography degrees, but also from the teaching that has been provided by industry professionals. We've never had to wait more than a few hours for an email back for any questions or feedback (any day/time), marking and feedback has always been given well within the boundaries and all three years have had plenty of opportunity to mix with each other and benefit from peer learning. The modules are really diverse and I found myself learning so many new skills, including some with writing/journalism and video. There's also a really nice balance between press work, and a more long form way of working (documentary). I'm a student that really dislikes writing, and struggles with essays - so the only downside of the whole degree would be having to do those - but even so, my lecturers have provided support and pointed me in the direction of the appropriate rescourses (including student services) to help me with my essays as much as possible. Overall, I'm really sad to be leaving, but also feel extremely prepared and excited to start life as a freelance photojournalist.

Overall I have absolutely loved my degree of criminology and criminal justice. First year lecturers eased you into the course content and taught introductory modules with the choice of an extra module in either criminal history or criminal sociology. Second year was very structured and non choices in modules were given! Still however an interesting year. Final year there was much more choice available and some fantastic modules to choose. The majority of the lecturers are fantastic and come from amazing research backgrounds! The only pitfall I would give is the lack of help I'm receiving with my dissertation.. However that's down to an individual at the university not the university as a whole. The experience of studying criminology at USW has been one of the best things I've ever done! Definitely recommend the course and the university itself!

I have loved my time in Uni, you will study a wide array of subjects as part of the business school. This prepares you for all areas of the industry. Furthermore, throught my study I have always been supported and encourged by lectures, they are all willing to make time to help you. Also you are encouraged from the start to get as much experinece under your belt as possible and there are modules to go with this aswell to refelect on your experince. In addition, I had a year out working in the industry and had support from the uni throughout this prossess making the transition as smooth as it could have been.

I would recommend this course to events students who want to leave uni and feel prepared to go staright into work.

Some lecturers have been some of the most helpful knowledgable people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. But when you're paying as much for tuition as you do these days you expect better than what I've had from other lecturers, such as being given the brief for an assignment two days before the deadline, or having the course leader claim sick days when in reality they were sorting out a costly job in a Canadian uni for themselves, leading to making a rushed decision about third year module choices in the last week of September because none of us had been told anything about it. I've learnt a lot and hopefully the bad elements of the course have left with that specific lecturer but you do expect better.

This course is fantastic if you enjoy fashion and all the surrounding elements. There is opportunity to expolore all aspects of the world of fashion such as photography, to buying and merchandising. There have been numerous lectureres come and go due to new jobs/maternity leave which has been sad to see them go as they have all been very helpful. In the first and second year you get quite a lot of guidance (if you need it). I've never had to ask for help as I have understood everything stated in the briefs given. Tutors are very approachable and happy to help if you  have any issues. Year 2 was a big step from year 1, likewise with year 2 to 3. I am currently in my third year and am finding the quantity of work quite overwhelming, but you just have to get it done. Tutorials with tutors in third year are so helpful and i'd advise all students to take priority of these tutorials. I have enjoyed this course as fashion is something that i've always been interested in, but if you don't have a real passion for it, then it's not the course for you.

The course consists of coursework and essays usually 50/50, it is challenging and the content can be tedious but also interesting.
