There is an incredibly amount of opportunity to someone wanting to join a society at Southampton. The variety is impressive and everyone can find something they like. There are sports, arts, societies related to all the courses and disciplines, sciences, crafts, hobbies, type of music, sexual orientation, political or religious beliefs, diet, life style and to every single problem, mental health issue or disorder you can just imagine. In case there would be something you're interested in not having a society , you can just organise a society for your self, and after demonstrating it at the bun fight, you can be sure hundreds of people with the same interest will be willing to join as the uni is pretty huge and there all always people in the same shoes who are worth finding. I'm a member of the rowing club, one of the dancing squads, and I also learn sign language with a society , which provides free classes. It's just simply amazing.
