The university offers a lot of support ranging from career services and enabling services for people that suffer from a variety of problems such as anxiety or depression which unfortunately a lot of students can find themselves in due to stress and workloads. The university is very helpful with its supportive lecturers and staff and personal academic tutors.

The campus is decent with buildings that are quite old and boring but does it job. The facilities are good, could do with more self study spaces outside the library. The student union is okay, offering service of expectation but have rigid rules regarding using rooms and spaces. The careers service is good with the drop in sessions but would be better with longer sessions.

The university offers loads of extra circucular activities, as well as lots of additional support with studies. The tutor system works really really well and you can feel like you can talk to them about anything, the close relationships with the PhD students works well too.

Oh Southampton, the biggest pyramid scheme to ever go untouched. Full of corruption, appalling facilities and suffers from the countries worst satisfaction rate while the University attempts to hide it. No care for its students and only for its research. Thousands of us, upset, robbed and angry with all our voices going unheard! Imagine nobody knowing any members of your student union, our SU is appalling and honestly beyond embarrassing. Imagine being told you must pay to be part of a society or the fact that if you wish to play with a sports team you have to buy a gym membership to part-take. To top it off imagine being told you have to have a premium membership to use the gym between 4pm-8pm. Poor organisation, many not having a tutor or never have met their tutor, emails sent to the wrong students or even having your mock exams look like they were articulated by 12 year old child. Extremely lazy staff in certain areas but unfortunately this over shadows the hard working, poorly treated staff members that put their students first, including tutors, lectures to non academic staff members who couldn't be friendlier.

Don’t understand what I’m paying for when it seems the lecturers don’t care about any students. Heard all this stuff about the vice chanellor getting loads of money. Lecturers all going on strike and not telling students in advance but we don’t get any compensation.

Great campus and really friendly staff, would definitely recommend to others thinking of applying. I study physics and the lecture halls are great, and the lecturures are brilliant

The main (newer) campuses are stunning with very modern, bright and airy feel to them making them welcoming and inviting. The facilities are all so close by as well (library, gym, GP, union) but not so close together they do not fit or look distracting!

World class facilities, but with teaching spread too thinly over our very large year group means that more and more work is better off doing at home. Plenty of soc's to join and living is relatively cheap... if you avoid the uni shops.

Great university overall. Brilliant facilities at the National Oceanography Centre. A lot of practical experience in the fieldtrips.

Great university overall. Have brilliant facilities at the National Oceanography Centre. A lot of fieldtrips especially if you study ocean and earth sciences.

Amazing uni I love it! Best decision I ever made. Great location and great people Really good city for going out but also good to be surrounded by like minded people & also the lecturerers are really good. Only problem is the course isn’t too organised

The course is a lot less intense than what I thought it would be, I thought there would be much more contact houses for Geography but there isn’t. The acconpcation is really good and here’s lots of choice, the union is good but the club is rubbish as it’s onlt on during freshers, the organisation is quite poor like the pastoral care isn’t gay great in the Uni as a whole.

Fantastic campus, staff and students union. You get your money's worth here. Dedicated campus for geology and oceanography students.

The overall performance of the university is of standard. However, the ties it has with industry have to be made better for postgraduate students. Also, the level of English for some international students has to be checked more thoroughly, so that they are not misunderstandings.

The campus is huge with a rich library and friendly staff! However, the environment in the library can be improved. Also, there are many international students and their level of English has to be improved to match the standards of the university. The career services have to provide further links with the i dustry and help with students thesis to be connected with challanges that companies face.

The course is fantastic, amazing services and student union. Only issue is that the lecture theatres can be quite old, and some have strange desks that are tilted and tightly packed together. You cannot sit without touching the person next to you and it can be difficult to type/write.

The campus is lovely and the facilities are pretty good too, most courses have their own space to study/relax/chat. The library is huge with an easy system to book rooms as well as 24 hour opening around exams! The university also puts a lot of emphasis on careers advice with fairs and services.

The lecturers are very good and the campus and lecture theatres are good. It’s located well within the city with a lot of options for nights out. The student union could be a lot better however. The sports facilities are overpriced for what we can use.

The campus is great and has a really social and friendly feel. The student union and surrounding buildings are particularly great with enough food and social areas that you could probably just live off the campus. Stags could possibly have more seating though or possibly expand. My course is taught in the most infuriating way and there's a whole module that I don't even know what is in it... But thankfully I'm changing course to one that gives out booklets that contains the whole syllabus and has worksheets every week to keep you on top of things in a more hands on way.

Needs more investment into students. More lecture halls and more sporting facilities. There is a lot of potential for the campus to be great, the library is good and the campus is very pretty. The gym is a let down and very expensive for what it is.

I am a fresher really enjoying myself here. My course is fantastic, the campus is so lovely and the people are equally nice.

Campus has everything you’d need on your day to day uni life. Just a shame there isn’t a students union club all year round. Love my course, organised really well and the staff are really good.

Campus is really nice, course is good but not many contact hours. Student union are rubbish, can’t organise events and make stupid rules, don’t focus on the students enough!

MEng electronics. Course is hard. Feedback is bad. Uni relies too much on research aspect and not enough on good teaching.
