Lovely campus which is based in the town hi the seaside and St. Andrews golf courses.Lots of student support on the course. Sport facilities are good with many different teams and societies to join for all abilities. Student union is good but drinks are quite pricy.

Going to this unique university was an excellent decision. This is due to the nature of the academic courses, the diverse people that you meet and the beauty of the surroundings.

Studying Classics is great at St Andrews because of the department being so small. This means you get to meet lots of the lecturers who know you all by name as well as many students who are not just in your own academic year. Lots of coursework which suits me and translation in exams. The Classics Library is possibly my favourite room in the uni looking over the North Sea to snow-capped mountains in the Highlands. Sometimes I find the marking of assessments to be very harsh though especially in comparison to many other subjects and degrees.

Philosophy at the University of St Andrews was full of wonders. So many mysteries about our world to consider that I had never even questioned before. Philosophy is a subject that is compatible with pretty much every other subject you can think of. For mathematics students, logic should appeal and for arts students, the philosophy of art/aesthetics should appeal. Philosophy has something for everyone. We looked at theories from early philsophers like Plato and Aristotle up to modern day philosophers like Kripke and Chalmers.

Course module review - The Kennedy Years, 02/02/2017

Submitted by Anonymous on

I chose this module as a final year 'special subject' in history. It was hands down the best module I have ever taken at university. Taught by a master of the subject, engaging, challenging and fun. You will be pushed academically, but you also gain a lot out of it. Because it's a year long module, you also really get a chance to bond with your classmates.

Course module review - Dissertation, 26/05/2016

I have particularly enjoyed the dissertation writing module - there is a lot of work and effort that must go into it, but if you regularly work on it you won't have any problems. I really enjoyed researching a specific topic that I got to choose myself - make sure you choose a topic that you know you know about relatively already and will definitely be interested in for a few months!
