I am currently a honours student studying history and politics and I couldn’t imagine studying anywhere else. The history department have been so facilitating throughout my years and have truly helped me progress. The campus is an ideal location for me allowing me to stay at home but also giving me lots of public transport options. I live the street art that can be found across the campus which I believe adds something special.

Strathclyde is a very nice university, the campuses are modern and have a large variety of resources available to students. For those who prefer older looking building there is the royal college campus. We also have a large library and very good sports facilities. The Union is good too, it has a fair amount of places to eat or have a drink. The only problem i think that the place is not very centralised which means you could find yourself running from one campus to another.

MEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering

The degree course is excellent with good bredth of knowledge gained and very good opportunities to study abroad.
There is, however, a lack of real 'hands on' classes, where you can build things - there only seems to be a couple of opportunities a year (less, depending on the scope of projects in 4th and 5th year)

BA (Hons) Finance
3.0 out of 5 stars based on 1 review

The content of the course is diverse. From finance to international banking to quantitative finance to accounting, this course has a lot to improve in. Me, being a core Finance student felt that there was no need for me to learn subjects like banking as i do not intend to work in that sector. I belong to another country. So my knowledge of Accounting standards did not match the study of accounting in UK. This created a problem for me to understand the concepts.

BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science
3.0 out of 5 stars based on 1 review

The course is accredited by the NHS therefore making applying to work as a biomedical scientist in the NHS easier. However this course doesnt offer the years placement in order to become HPHC registered, this is a major disadvantage as trying to find a trainee position is very difficult, most vacancies request someone who is HPHC registered. Overall the course offers a broad range of subjects allowing you to diversify in other lab based jobs which I enjoyed. I found the assessments to be variable in terms of their clarity.

This has been an amazing class, very interesting. The professor has a great talent in transferring his knowledge to us, most of who never had had any past background in the subject of Marketing and Marketing Management. We were showed many many examples to understand the principles of marketing and how they are applied in our everyday life as well as career. We also had 2 guest lecturers from outside companies who talked to us about marketing and how they used it to start their businesses with success. The class was a highlight of the year and i did not want it to end.

I felt the course has the potential to be very interesting, getting the opportunity to pair theory with practical work. It ended up very frustrating and an enormous waste of time. It ended up being a bit of luck on whether the aircraft would simply fly or not, while if the aircraft did fly, it would be easily destroyed on landing. Therefore a lot of time was wasted redoing work because of failed tests, due to insignificant space to fly and not enough class time for assessment.

International Financial Markets And Banking

This subject is meant to enable the students to build an understanding of the banking and finance sector and the crisis that arose in the past, so as to enable students to know where and how such incidents can be stopped or prevented. But this subject demands a high level of dedication and study research. The number of research papers and articles given to read make us focus less on other subjects in the semister, causing a sense of doubt in the minds of students if the course content was checked against the balance for other subjects while formulation of the same or not.
