The module is a continuation from the module on the previous year. From the start this became a problem as the lecturer from this year (a different one) assumed our knowledge was far more extensive than could be expected. The amount and length of thr coursework was too much and this lecturer could not teach to save a life.

This module is very interesting and useful as part of the psychology syllabus at the university of dundee. The course is very useful for setting us up to carry out our dissertations in fourth year as it gives us the indepth step by step guide to carrying out most analyses in a way that is both interesting and useful. The work that is carried out over this module would not only be useful for our dissertations but also for any data handling work in the majority of professions as you not only learn how to carry them out but you also understand why they would be carried out and which analysis is appropriate for which scenario. I particularly enjoyed our lecture on z-scores as this was informative and useful for both psychology reports and in our everyday lives. The teaching is mainly done through powerpoint but the lecturers are very keen to aid you in your understanding if you become confused. the lectures are also often interactive and so you can answer questions as much or as little as you like!

I really enjoyed this module. I think it was a lot like higher biology though so if you haven't studied this you might struggle a bit at first but I think the teaching quality was good enough that even a beginner would understand perfectly. The only bad thing I have to say is that so far we haven't been told anything about the assessment for this module which is leaving us a bit unprepared.

This is a compulsory module for any Year 2 Politics student at Dundee.

First you start off learning about the political theories. This was ok, but for someone who had done them at A Level, it felt like I was redoing my A2 Politics all over again! Only one lecturer covers this section, which is completed with a 3000 word essay. That's tough to do.

Then you are taught about the political systems in Spain and Russia by two other lecturers, and again have to write a 3000 word essay.

I was nervous about studying this module as I had very little previous knowledge of tax, however Yvonne Evans put my doubts to rest. The help and guidance she gave us through articles, seminar styles, advice on essay questions etc was fantastic. She always mixed up the structure of seminars with teaching, discussion, hot topics, fun activities and presentations.

What I enjoy most about this module is the laid back atmosphere of it. Many students will be put off by the fact that it's a nighttime module, but it's very enjoyable. The lecturer encourages healthy debate and discussion within the class and the course content is a prime example of classic literature.

The good thing about the subjects is that you get a wide coverage of areas, unfortunately they are all obligatory as there is no opportunity for choice at all. Most lecturers are very smart people but have no clue how to teach which makes it very difficult to learn. We have an average of 8 hours of lectues and 4 tutorials but never enough to focus on really understanding the content but instead skimming through. From my experience some subjects completely lack feedback in the assignments and the marking tends to be unfair. Overall, very glad I'll be done in less than two months now!

Psychology at the University of Dundee is pretty great however it does have its downsides. The course content is one of the best parts about the course with lots of really interesting aspects of psychology from developmental psychology to individual differences to research skills. I particularly enjoyed the assessment methods in 1st and 2nd year which were mainly multiple choice. Unfortunately there have recently been many budget cuts and so many of the best lecturers left. This had a large impact on the running of the course. Also, the feedback from coursework can sometimes be quite poor and often late. 3rd year assessments should also be reviewed I feel as exams are worth 80% and they drop you in at the deep end with a 2 hour long essay exam for four subjects each semester, which is pretty heavy-going. The academic support in the way of tutors is also quite minimal but this may or may not be a hindrance for others where self learning is a benefit to the individual. I especially like the research skills part of our syllabus as I feel this will come in handy for whichever field of work I go into as it gives great practise for data handling software. The psychology course as a whole is very interesting and varied, and I would certainly recommend.

My course LLB English Law is everything that I expected it to be. the modules are taught well, we have been given useful module guides on our university account and we have been given good power points to help us understand the topic well. the lecturers are also great as they make the lectures seem really interesting and not bore us.

This has been a good course so far, I am only half way through my first year. I enjoyed the theory a lot and was excited to go on placement however now that I've been out on placement I've been put off a bit. I feel that the clinical skills sessions don't teach us enough for real life situations and I felt so out of place and like I didn't know anything when I went on my first placement. I know that we are supposed to learn a lot of our practical skills from our placements but I think the uni should have prepared us more.
