I study psychology at Portsmouth and it is an amazing course and the lecturers provide all the help you need. It has a city campus meaning that you can pop into town any time you would like and still make it to lectures. The nightlife is particularly great especially Fridays at Astoria! Freshers week is also unreal! Best part of first year. Everyone is so welcoming you will feel right at home!
In comparison to other universities, UoP posses greater resources and provide much more needed support. There are an extensive amount of teachers to help from coursework to exam prep to checking in our mental health. UoP have a careers and recruitment building as well as an online platform. You would be able to find a plethora of paid and voluntary job opportunities to partake in, that will really make you learn C.V standout.
The content of the course if is great but the organisation by the staff is lacking! The campus is spread out which coming from a different university which was one campus felt like there was less of a community feel.
the university helped me through tough times, with great lectures showing me real life examples on how to use theories and what the next steps of life are and how to take them correctly
campus is good. everything is close by so as freshers you can walk everywhere. the same goes for sport facilities and the libary. the union is good as its cheap and is often busy wednesdays for society nights but its a shame that its not like other uni's where its a big club and everyone goes there every week.
First, thetuniversity has ver good teachers. Not only they teach, but they are a available for you after classes to clarify your questions. Second, they have support for careers and help you prepare for all the hiring process which it's very important for me, since I am oon the last year. Lastly, they create very usefull events with real professionals for each course that make you gain more knowledge and prepare you for your professional path.
The library needs more computers but has the right software at all times relevant to course. The lecturers are really approachable and course not too hard
A good place to lwarb with a lot of things to do in the city but does get quite boring after a while. Great uni experience in this city. Nightlife is good and quite wild.
It has been an overall good experience at the University of Portsmouth. They help you a lot in the beginning to get into the routine. In the first year they teach you very good bases for the following years. Most lectures give great lectures and they really care about you.
Portsmouth university is amazing. I study accounting and finance, I initially found the course quite challenging but ad I've progressed it's become easier. The quality of the teaching is easy to understand and is very helpful when it comes to external work and independent learning. The campus is very clearly laid out with buildings being easy to find and rooms easily to locate. The buildings themselves are either quite modern or historic looking, which creates a great aesthetic. Overall, the university is a great place to study and I love my course!
Portsmouth University has great facilities for interactive learning, sports & more. The uni also make an effort to offer healthy food in the various buildings and library. The staff on my course are all very passionate and engaging in lectures and seminars. The careers centre and all clearly experts in what they do as they helped me immensly with my cv which has secured me various insight days and interviews. They also offer extensive help on interview tests & phone call interviews & are always happy to help.
The university is ok for social and being with friends, however without the students Portsmouth is very boring, residents say the students is what creates Portsmouth. Studying is great, the teachers are very supportive and give us what we need.
I have loved my time at Portsmouth! Would not change it for the world. The staff are supppprtive and interesting, I feel lucky to have studied here.
Amazing uni, great social life and great facilities. I love being so close to the uni in my halls as well as being near the sea and shops
The campus of the university of Portsmouth is great as everything is local, student life is great however I feel that the student union or university should encourage more events for students like the freshers fair that we had at the start of the year!
Offsite facilities good at alton campus where I studied basic college facilities and cafeteria area with new built engineering block course structure very disorganised and almost questionable as to why you are paying such high fees
Good facilities and access to material needed for studies. A large majority of the teachers are very helpful, the support is there if you need it and there are a lot of social things happening.
All of my course staff are really friendly and helpful. There are a lot of measures in place to help when you are struggling, for example ASDAC and the well-being service. My one issue is the student union- a lot of my friends unis have club in their unions, which would be my only issue. All of the buildings are relatively central which is good as if you have gaps you can easily fill your time
Lovely environment and great staff it's an enjoyable course to be part of. Have been helped so much with my studies from staff and pupils who also attend the university. The library is more than perfect and gives such a welcoming environment to everyone who does enter
When coming straight into university from sixth form i knew it would be independent studying but i didnt expect it to be this independent. I do think it is a beneficial experience but i think that lecturers could be more willing to help students. Also, some units have illogical deadlines which dont benefit students which i think the university should readdress
I've been there for about almost 4 months now and I genuinely mean this; I can't imagine myself anywhere eise. All the lecturers are lovely and super helpful and are down to answer any questions and concerns we may have.
The student union is really good and the university is good and the career services, offer a lot of support. The university is located in a very good location in the centre of Portsmouth with Gunwharf Quays and cascades shopping centre within walking distance.
The course (criminology and criminal justice) and the staff members makes the university. there are facilities to aid learning but they can be better. I felt that we dont have enough externa experience to incorporate after uni and i feel that university should arrange excursions for students to improve learning
There is no campus Not much to do in the student union. Careers service are very helpful Organisation is good howver takes them too long to incorporate new suggestions that its pointless
