The halls are in a good location if you want to live on campus, however it is really out the way of the city/shops etc so its hard to get around without paying lots for transport. The rooms are a decent size with lots of storage, however they are Definitely showing there age, and are quite over priced.

The social aspect was awesome, the team in charge of maintenance were friendly and the environment was nice. Location was perfect. However, when collecting deposit at the end of the year, they were really unfair.

It’s not the biggest or most modern, but has everything you need, great location and allows for good friendships to be made easily for Freshers

En-suite is a wet room. Communal space is a bit small but generally very nice place to live with lots of facilities and very close to campus amenities

Much cheaper than new hall and so less modern and new as expected. But people between flats mix a lot more, so mixing with 36 people rather than just those in your flat. Overall a good community feel. Perfect if you study on Clifton or use the sport facilities on offer at Clifton. A short walk from Tesco, KFC and McDonald's, with Morrisons a little further away. Get to the city via bus or tram.

Great social experience - really missing it this year. We had a few problems with our flat that weren’t sorted swiftly. We had a leak which led to a hole in the ceiling and wasn’t fixed for months. Quite old fashioned interior as it’s the older block on the accommodation. Shower flooded every time I had a shower and the water didn’t drain so had to mop the floor after every shower! No one ever used the communal living room. Our cleaner was absolutely lovely and so friendly and always left us notes to say thank you. Found some of the reception ladies quite rude though. Overall was a great experience and definitely would love to go back

The location was good, right on campus. The price was expensive for just the basic amenities. No sofas of communal lounge area just a kitchen and your room. My room was ok, served its basic purpose.

Really close to everything on campus which is fab for 9am!! All ensuite bathrooms and 6 people to a flat, sharing a kitchen. Very sociable among the flats. Lots of storage in the rooms.

Peverell was in a good location in regards to attending lectures and labs, but when you wanted to go out at night youd either have to get a taxi or a bus to the location and back which took a lot of time

The location of the halls is great for any student studying on Clifton campus as you are right in the heart of the campus. The facilities are at a good standard but could be improved slightly. The social experience for me was great as my own block of around 35 people all became friends and there always someone around. The rooms could be improved slightly but offer good single bed, plenty of storage space, huge desk and own ensuite/wet room.

Living in Peverell is like living in a dirt cheap hostel you find in the middle of nowhere in Thailand, but it's cheap and only for one night, except Peverell charge you 5 and a half grand, and it's for the whole year. The rooms literally have mould growing in them, and if you report this - they either tell you there's nothing they can do, or say "it wasn't there when you moved in" and try and insinuate somehow that you've grown the mould yourself. After a shower, your bathroom will flood. It doesn't matter how 'careful' or strategically you can place yourself in the tiny shower - the whole bathroom will flood, and for the rest of the day, will be a dangerous, slippy pool of stagnant water. Obviously everyone knows student halls are like school residentials, right? Lights off at 8 that sort of thing. Well this is highly enforced by the on-site security team who will let themselves into your flat and threaten you with punishments ranging from fines, to eviction warnings, confiscating speakers, should you decide to have a flat party that is considered 'too loud' at 9pm on a saturday night. Dying in a fire does not sound like my ideal way to go, however Peverell takes fire safety to the absolute extreme with their fire alarms and smoke detectors. You literally just have to walk past the smoke detector fast enough to cause a breeze and it will go off. The amount of times you will find yourself stood outside in your dressing gown, probably in the rain, at ridiculous times of the night because the smoke detector thinks a bowl of hot food or toast coming out the toaster is a californian wildfire. If your not already drowning in debt under tuition fees, accommodation costs and other expenses, Peverell throws you another curve ball, firstly, its location. There are literally no affordable supermarkets within a walking distance. The nearest supermarket is a 15 minute hike to Morrisons, which takes no prisoners in terms of deals, discounts or affordability. Also draining your bank account is the on-site washing facilities. £2 a wash, £1 a dry, doesn't sound too bad, until you realise that your clothes come out just as dirty as you put them in, only wet. And I would put money on your clothes coming out of the dryer, you guessed it, wet. Looking for some positives to brighten this review - Peverell is social. Lets be honest, nobody wants to spend time in their room because its just disgusting, so you quickly make friends. The kitchens are great, everything you could need, very spacious, and providing you get a good group of flat mates, you can actually try to have a good time in Peverell, but don't have too much of a good time, remember the walls between you and your neighbour are made of cardboard, and they can hear everything you're doing. Everything.
